Blood Orange & Basil Mojito Cooler
Warning: Early spring sunshine may lead to drinking cold beverages! This delicious and nutritious quenching beverage can be made with or without alcohol. Fresh muddled mint and basil give a refreshing burst of flavor to this timeless classic.
What you will need (makes 2):
1-2 oz Tequila or Gin of choice (omit for a glorious non- alcoholic beverage)
1/2 lime-fresh squeezed juice
1/2 blood orange- fresh squeezed juice
1/2 oz Runamok Markut Lime Infused Maple Syrup
1oz Blood Orange Balsamic Vinegar
1/2oz Basil Infuse Olive Oil
1 bottle of sparkling water
2 fresh basil leaves
3-5 fresh mint leaves
Ice
To Prepare
In drink mixer or mason jar add torn fresh mint & basil and muddle with a bar tool or wooden spoon- crushing these a bit releases their full flavor
Add all contents to a drink shaker except sparkling water
Shake
Remove some of the mint and basil and discard, adding a few piece of the leafy herbs is nice, too many is a nuisance so find your happy medium
Split between two glasses of ice, top with soda water, stir and enjoy!
Tip: Our delicious olive oils add a silky sparkle to mixed drinks, add a swizzle stick or paper straw to keep oil incorporated as you sip. The oil tends to rise to the top- we think it's great wherever it ends up but we prefer it stirred!
