Locally grown here in Grass Valley, CA, this Tuscan Varietals Field Blend Extra Virgin Olive oil is mild, and very smooth.  Hand harvested, this delicate oil is on the fruitier side with notes of ripe banana and ripe olive. The gentle bitterness and low pungency are a delight.

It is wonderful when used for sautéing and baking, in salad dressings and marinades, and for dipping and drizzling.

Phil and Nancy Messier moved to Grass Valley in 2008. Phil is a retired commercial airline pilot and Nancy a retired flight attendant before becoming a full-time Mom. The property they purchased had about 130 olive trees on an acre of property. The trees are about 30 years old. Their orchard consists of Manzanillo, Frantoio, Leccino, Mission, and Grappolo varietals. Everything is done by hand, and no pesticides or herbacides are sprayed. This last harvest they produced over 1 ton of olives, which rewarded them with 32 gallons of oil.

We don't always have the privilege of offering this local olive oil because of harvest quantities, so when we do we are ecstatic!
