Organic California Paprika

Description

Organic California Paprika is a very mild chile powder, with a maximum Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) measurement of 500 and a premium ASTA value of 120. It is made from various cultivars of Capsicum annuum chiles that meet the correct heat and color requirements.

 Organic California Paprika has very little heat and is earthy and sweet with a fresh, almost green flavor.

Uses

Use Organic California Paprika in Portuguese, Spanish, Indian, and Turkish recipes for color and depth. It is lovely in casseroles, soups, and stews, with cheeses, chicken, duck, egg-based dishes, hors d'ouvres, marinades, rice, salads, smoked foods, vegetables, and cottage cheese. Paprika’s mild nature means it pairs well with just about anything but it goes particularly nicely with garlic, onion, tomato, mustard seed, caraway, allspice, turmeric, coriander, rose petal, cumin, chocolate, black pepper, oregano, and fennel.
