Homemade Cranberry Sauce

Homemade Cranberry Sauce
Two ways to create a tart yet sweet, cranberry forward alternative to cans.

OR

Cinnamon Pear Aged Balsamic Vinegar

1 package whole, fresh cranberries
1 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup Cinnamon Pear or Cranberry Pear Aged Balsamic Vinegar
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (1 tsp if using Cranberry Pear Balsamic Vinegar)
1 tbsp orange zest (or a good splash of OJ)

  1. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine sugar, balsamic vinegar, and water. Bring to a boil and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Mix in cranberries, cinnamon, and orange zest.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer until the berries burst-about 10 minutes.
  4. Cool completely. Sauce will thicken as it cools.
